Description
An authenticated remote code execution in Kentico Xperience allows authenticated users Staging Sync Server to upload arbitrary data to path relative locations. This results in path traversal and arbitrary file upload, including content that can be executed server side leading to remote code execution.This issue affects Kentico Xperience through 13.0.178.

An authenticated path traversal vulnerability in Kentico Xperience's Staging Sync Server allows authenticated users to upload files to arbitrary path locations, bypassing directory restrictions. Combined with the ability to upload executable content, this enables remote code execution.
Mitigation
Apply the vendor patch when available. As an immediate compensating control, review and restrict Staging Sync Server permissions to only essential service accounts, and consider disabling staging functionality if not required.
